Accessibility in Marketing & Communications

Making JCC media & content accessible

Jamestown Community College is committed to the creation of accessible media in our marketing and communications. We design and produce content in accordance with industry standard accessibility practices and the SUNY Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility plan. As best practices and standards evolve, our requirements will also evolve.

Content that is provided to Marketing and Communications for use in JCC media must follow accessibility standards. If provided content is not accessible, it will not be used.

PDFs submitted for website use will not be used if they are not made accessible. Please prepare your PDFs for accessibility before submitting.

Forms & instructions

  • Write forms and instructions so that they do not rely solely on size, shape, color, visual location, or sound.
  • Do not include flashing content. If content is animated (passes through time), the user must be able to halt the timing.

Non-discrimination notice

Official correspondence includes the non-discrimination notice.

Website design & development

Jamestown Community College is committed to providing a website that is accessible to all users. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) through the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We use the WCAG as our standard for accessibility and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

We are continually seeking out solutions that will improve website accessibility. If you experience any difficulty in accessing the Jamestown Community College website, please contact us at

To meet WCAG, the website uses specific content and development processes, purposefully designed page types, and other tools to meet requirements.
