SUNY JCC Occupational Therapy Class Achieves 100% Pass Rate on Certification

One hundred percent of SUNY Jamestown Community College's most recent Occupational Therapy Assistant program graduates attempting the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy passed the licensing exam.

According to the National Board’s website, of 12 New York colleges that offer the program, SUNY JCC was one of only three that achieved a 100% pass rate.

The Music department at SUNY Jamestown Community College released its spring schedule of events recently. These free events are all on the Jamestown Campus and open to the public.
 
The JCC Music Department Faculty Recital is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28 in room 138 of the Sheldon Center. Faculty from the Music department will present an eclectic program full of dynamic performances.

SUNY Jamestown Community College is preparing to celebrate Arbor Day and its 15th consecutive Tree Campus USA designation from the National Arbor Day Foundation with ceremonial tree plantings from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on April 23. 

“We welcome the community to gather at the front of the Science Center and participate in the event,” said Andy Pitoniak, assistant professor of Biology at JCC. “In order to maintain our Tree Campus designation, we must show a commitment to maintaining and improving the trees on campus. This day is a fun piece of our ongoing efforts.”

Five SUNY Jamestown Community College Student Senate members will represent the college at the Student Assembly of State University of New York’s Spring Conference April 19-21 in Glens Falls. 

The conference provides networking opportunities for students and opportunities to learn skills to help them with their student government responsibilities. New leaders for the Student Assembly are elected during this conference.

OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College is hosting financial aid events on April 22 and April 29 at its Cattaraugus County County Campus to help current and prospective college students complete the updated Free Application for Federal Student Aid form.

The events are scheduled for 3-7 p.m. in room 108 of the Library & Liberal Arts Center on the downtown Olean campus.

SUNY Jamestown Community College students were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society during ceremonies on April 9 on the Cattaraugus County Campus and April 10 on the Jamestown Campus.

A student must achieve at least a 3.50-grade point average to be considered for the national two-year college honor society.  

Forty-eight students were inducted into the Jamestown Campus Alpha Kappa Beta chapter, and 15 into the Cattaraugus County Campus Alpha Psi Omega chapter.
