Students are invited to participate in an open audition from 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15 in the Scharmann Theatre on the SUNY Jamestown Community College Jamestown Campus for the April Emerging Artist Showcase, “Tales from Us.”

The following students from SUNY Jamestown Community College were placed on the part-time Dean’s List for academic excellence during the fall 2023 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better in 6-11 degree hours.

SUNY JCC Partners With Chautauqua Center to Bring Accessible Healthcare to Students

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Chautauqua Center’s Mobile Healthcare Unit is coming to SUNY Jamestown Community College to deliver a range of medical services to students.

Staffed by licensed healthcare professionals, the mobile unit is scheduled to be on the Jamestown Campus, outside the college Health Center in the Hamilton College Center parking lot, every other Wednesday during the spring and fall semesters in 2024.

Two students from SUNY Jamestown Community College and their advisor attended the Student Veterans of America National Convention this month in Nashville, Tennessee. Yeidy Bishop and Matthew Adams, along with Don Pool, coordinator of Accessibility Services and Military and Veterans Club United advisor, were able to share ideas and best practices with student veterans, military-connected students, and other supporters, as well as corporate, government and nonprofit partners.

A small group of SUNY Jamestown Community College students recently visited the Pines nursing home in Olean to deliver cookies and spread a little holiday cheer to residents.

“It was the sweetest thing,” said Crystal Fernandez, a member of JCC’s Cattaraugus County Campus Student Senate, who helped take cookies from room to room while chatting with many of the residents. 

“I loved it,” she added. “It made me feel good afterward doing something for them.”

SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Workforce Development held graduation ceremonies for 14 students who successfully completed the Industrial Maintenance Technician short-term training program. The North County Center ceremony took place at noon on December 14. The Cattaraugus County Campus ceremony took place at 4 p.m. on December 14.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Academy recently awarded recruit Aaron Pacos with the Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship. 

Verna Feather created the scholarship to honor her husband, the late Dan Feather, who was an 18-year veteran of the Jamestown Police Department. Each year a Chautauqua County resident attending the Sheriff’s Academy who is noted for their professionalism and character receives the award, which was $1,400 this year.
