Using Honorlock proctoring service
Jamestown Community College provides Honorlock as an online proctoring service free to students. If an online course requires proctored exams using Honorlock, you will take your exams on your own computer using the internet. Exam sessions are recorded using your webcam, and a live "pop-in" Honorlock proctor may interact with you during the exam if warranted.
What you'll need to use Honorlock
- Laptop, Chromebook, or desktop computer (minimum system requirements)
- Stable and strong internet connection
- Built-in or external webcam and microphone
- Cell phone or tablet with camera
Preparing for an exam
- Work through HonorPrep, which will let you check system requirements, install the Honorlock Chrome extension, and become familiar with Honorlock.
- Identify a quiet testing environment that is bright enough to be considered "daylight" quality.
- Prepare a desk or table to take the exam. The surface should be clear of all items other than allowed testing materials.
If you encounter any issues, contact Honorlock’s 24/7/365 Support or check out the Honorlock Knowledge Base.
