Career Services aligns with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and aims to develop the following career readiness competencies in students. These were found to be most important for early college graduates according to NACE research across thousands of employers and industries nationwide.

To what degree did the student demonstrate an awareness of their strengths and weaknesses, the ability to navigate career opportunities, and/or a capacity to create professional relationships?
To what degree was the student able to clearly, effectively, and respectfully exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives through verbal, nonverbal, or written communication?
To what degree did the student demonstrate an understanding of situational context and logical analysis of relevant information in their problem solving?
To what degree did the student demonstrate respect in their awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills required to interact with people from different backgrounds? Different backgrounds may refer to people of diverse age, race, ethnicity, religion, etc.
To what degree was the student able to recognize and capitalize on personal and team strengths to achieve organizational goals?
To what degree did the student understand and demonstrate effective work habits, and act in the interest of the larger community and workplace? This may refer to the student’s punctuality, dress, dependability, etc.
To what degree was the student able to build and maintain collaborative relationships to work effectively toward common goals, while appreciating diverse viewpoints and shared responsibilities?
To what degree was the student able to understand and adapt to new technology and/or leverage the appropriate technology to accomplish goals?
