Practical Nursing (LPN) Admissions

Steps to apply to the Nursing program

The application will be open October 1 through October 31, 2026. Applications must be completed by October 31, 2026 to be considered for the Spring 2027 cohort.

1. Apply to JCC

Complete the general admission application process to JCC. If you are a current JCC student, skip to step 2.

  • All official transcripts, high school equivalency diplomas/scores, college and/or military transcripts must be submitted to the Admissions office to process your application.
  • All nursing applicants will be initially accepted as Individual Studies majors as a nursing candidate.

2. Review Practical Nursing (LPN) program eligibility requirements

Eligibility Requirements
  • Eligibility for BIO 2510 (having completed high school or college-level chemistry)
  • Eligibility for placement in ENG 1510 without supports
  • Eligibility for placement in MAT 1540
  • Completion of TEAS exam
  • Minimum GPA requirement: 2.0

For students ineligible due to the chemistry requirements, speak with an advisor for alternative pathways.

3. Complete the TEAS nursing entrance exam

All students who meet the eligibility requirements will need to take the TEAS nursing admittance entrance exam and submit scores to JCC. Scores will be reviewed regularly starting in December and will continue to be reviewed until the program is full.

  • These scores are valid for two years from the time the student takes the exam or when ATI releases a new version of the exam, whichever comes first.
  • You will have the option of sending the results to one school after completion of the exam; request them to be sent to Jamestown Community College.

The exam will be delivered and proctored in either remote or in-person modalities.

  • Cost: $120 for remote option or $87 for in-person option, payable to ATI during online registration
  • Bring your ATI logon that you created at registration when testing on campus

4. Apply to the Practical Nursing (LPN) program

The application will be open October 1 through October 31, 2026. Applications must be completed by October 31, 2026 to be considered for the Spring 2027 cohort.

This decision will be based on your eligibility at the time of application and your academic performance. Decision letters will be sent via email. You can also check the status of your application by logging in to your account. Decisions will not be given over the phone.
