Practical Nursing (LPN) (Certificate)

Study practical nursing at JCC

Jamestown Community College's Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program provides students with the essential skills and knowledge to deliver safe, patient-centered care in various healthcare settings. Through classroom instruction, clinical experience, and simulations, you will learn nursing fundamentals, medical procedures, and patient care techniques.

Upon completion, graduates will be prepared to take the NCLEX-PN exam to become licensed practical nurses, ready to contribute to the healthcare workforce with competence and compassion. You'll be prepared to work in healthcare environments, such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and home healthcare.

Licensure

Successful completion of Jamestown Community College’s Practical Nursing certificate program meets the educational requirements for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in New York State. Graduates must also meet all other New York State licensure requirements, including passing the NCLEX-PN. Successful completion of the program may also meet the educational requirements for LPN licensure in other states, but Jamestown Community College has not made that determination. Enrolled and prospective students are strongly encouraged to contact the nursing board in any state where they plan to seek licensure to review its requirements. Students can find state nursing board contact information through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). More Practical Nursing (LPN) program credentials »
