Enjoy music in a variety of ways at Jamestown Community College! Whether you want to study music as a student, perform for an audience, or join the audience and be entertained, JCC’s Music Department invites you to opportunities and events throughout the year.

Academic programs & courses

You are welcome to take music courses and ensembles at JCC with or without pursuing a music-related degree! Get involved with voice and instrumental lessons, digital recording, performing ensembles, music history, and more.

Music spaces & facilities

Our Music Wing on the Jamestown Campus features rehearsal rooms, piano lab, and recording studio for student courses and practice. In the same building you'll find Scharmann Theatre, where our student ensembles and more VAPA events perform each semester.

Music events

Each semester, JCC’s Music Department hosts music events, including:

  • JCC student and faculty recitals featuring solo performances
  • Spring and winter concerts featuring the JCC Concert Choir and JCC Concert Band
  • Spring Jam! and Winter Jam! featuring the JCC Rock Ensembles
  • Jazz Fest featuring different bands each year, such as Jazz Crossing, Dave Golando Quintet, The Assembly, and Wendell Rivera
  • Guest artist residencies such as Andy Wen (saxophone), Peregrine Road (traditional/folk), Effiny Saxophone Duo (contemporary classical), Wooden Cities (electroacoustic), and A.I. The Anomaly (hip-hop and jazz)
