SUNY Jamestown Community College is finding its place in several online ranking websites that aim to help students make informed decisions when choosing a college. Many of the ranking systems that have recognized SUNY JCC note the affordability of earning a degree, and flexibility of scheduling classes.
Academic Affairs, announced the 40 students who were awarded degrees or certificates from the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses of SUNY Jamestown Community College in Summer 2023. Six students earned highest honors (4.0 GPA), 12 earned high honors (3.50-3.99 GPA), and five earned honors (3.25-3.49 GPA).
Five members of the SUNY Jamestown Community College faculty received promotions prior to the start of the 2023-2024 academic year.
SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Nursing department held a mandatory, five-hour bootcamp for incoming fall freshmen Nursing students the week before the start of classes. The event was designed to offer specific strategies to reduce tension, and increase preparedness for the fall semester.

A total of 347 students earned degrees and certificates. Highest honors represents a 4.0 grade point average, high honors a 3.5 to 3.99 GPA, and honors a 3.25 to 3.49 GPA.

Fall semester classes at SUNY Jamestown Community College begin Aug. 21, and the application to apply will close Aug. 14. In-person student services are available at all JCC locations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Incoming students are encouraged to take advantage of upcoming events designed to help them feel welcome and get their college careers off to a strong start.
Many area high school students were named to SUNY Jamestown Community College’s part-time student dean’s list during the 2022-23 academic year. To be eligible, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or better while enrolled in six to 11 degree credits.
