SUNY Jamestown Community College is finding its place in several online ranking websites that aim to help students make informed decisions when choosing a college. Many of the ranking systems that have recognized SUNY JCC note the affordability of earning a degree, and flexibility of scheduling classes.

The college earned a silver Military Friendly distinction from Viqtory.com, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that strives to connect the military community with civilian jobs, schools and business opportunities. The company evaluates data gathered each year from an exhaustive survey that rates the facilities, programs, and services offered to military and veteran students by more than 1,800 schools. The data is evaluated using public data sources and responses. A circular seal that says "Military Friendly '23-24 Silver School.

“The military support at JCC is second to none,” said Matthew Miles. “They give you positive attitudes and everyone is just so nice.”

In total, 835 schools were awarded gold, silver, or bronze distinctions this year. Colleges are ranked based on their academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and job placement, military student support and retention. The designations are shared through “G.I. Jobs Magazine.” JCC receives silver for meeting or exceeding 100% of the Military Friendly standards. The rankings are based on statistical data and consistent principles such as academic quality, affordability, and online competency.
