Five SUNY JCC Faculty Members Promoted

Five members of the SUNY Jamestown Community College faculty received promotions prior to the start of the 2023-2024 academic year.

Dr. Jessica Kubiak was promoted to associate vice president for Planning & Faculty Relations.

Kubiak, an associate professor, joined the faculty in 2013 and held the position of director of Academic Initiatives and Experiential Learning coordinator from 2010-13. She also served as interim dean of Arts, Humanities, and Health Sciences for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years. 

Kubiak earned a Ph.D. in English from Old Dominion University, a graduate certificate in Composition Studies from Indiana University's East campus, a master's of Science in Adult Education from Buffalo State College, a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and an undergraduate certificate in African Studies from the University of Pittsburgh at Oakland. 

Kubiak received the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2020 and was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award from the Conference on College Composition and Communication in 2021.

Sarah Bray received promotion to the rank of associate professor.  

Bray joined the faculty in 2013 and teaches coursework in Entrepreneurship and Business on the Cattaraugus County Campus while supporting students and programming college wide.  She also serves in a leadership position as director of Business, Health Information Technology, and Administrative Professional programs. 

Bray received a master’s of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University, and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Alfred University College of Business.

Rose Dunn, Timothy Griffin, and Kassandra Wegner were promoted to the rank of assistant professor. 

Dunn joined the faculty in 2019 and teaches Nursing on the Cattaraugus County Campus. Dunn has a master’s degree in Nursing from Wilkes University and is a graduate of JCC’s Nursing program. 

Griffin joined the faculty in 2019 and teaches Mechanical Technology and Mechatronics on the Cattaraugus County Campus. Tim received a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Tech University. 

Wegner, reference librarian on the Cattaraugus County Campus, joined the faculty in 2019. She received a master’s degree in Information and Library Science and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University at Buffalo.
