About Standard Working Groups
The Standard Working Groups are a central part of our MSCHE reaccreditation process and will help ensure that our review is both thorough and meaningful.
Each Working Group will be assigned to a single Standard, and the Steering Committee will be responsible for ensuring groups engage in a thoughtful, open, and focused process of reflective inquiry, using the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation and Lines of Inquiry as a two-part framework for that work.
Working Group responsibilities & charge
Standard Working Groups are charged with 1) researching and reflecting on the extent to which the college meets Standard criteria, while also 2) refining and responding to Lines of Inquiry. Working Groups will accomplish this by:
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of the Standards for Accreditation aligned with their chapter (and similar chapters), evidence expectations and their relationship to the Requirements of Affiliation, institutional priorities, and the College’s mission and strategic plan.
- Adhering to the established Self‑Study schedule, meeting all deadlines, and maintaining regular communication and meetings with the Steering Committee and other Working Groups.
- Holding recurring Working Group meetings, sharing feedback with other groups, and working with the Steering Committee to identify overlapping research areas and needed documentation.
- Recommending revisions to Lines of Inquiry aligned with their Standard, identifying and requesting relevant data, and analyzing evidence to assess strengths, weaknesses, and compliance.
- Reviewing evidence related to adherence to the Standard, drafting narratives that establish evidence-based adherence to Standard criteria, identifying opportunities for improvement, and creating successive drafts leading to the final Working Group chapter.
