Computer Science students at SUNY Jamestown Community College will soon find their learning experience is more immersive and hands-on than ever before. The college was awarded a $12,500 Innovative Instruction Technology Grant, and used the funds to create a virtual and augmented reality room in the Sheldon Center on the Jamestown Campus.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Academy recently awarded recruit Aaron Pacos with the Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship.
Verna Feather created the scholarship to honor her husband, the late Dan Feather, who was an 18-year veteran of the Jamestown Police Department. Each year a Chautauqua County resident attending the Sheriff’s Academy who is noted for their professionalism and character receives the award, which was $1,400 this year.
Learn about, and audition for, this unique theater group! There is nothing to prepare. Come ready to work through several theater exercises and decide if it is right for you. The group will meet one to two times per week to prepare for the inaugural Emerging Artist Showcase in April.
Those interested in directing, writing, acting, and producing are encouraged to attend.
Note: Students on the Cattaraugus County Campus who would like to participate should contact Mark Sasse by February 1.

Two free music events celebrating the winter season are planned for December at SUNY Jamestown Community College. Both events are open to the public.
The JCC Rock Ensembles present a high-energy performance at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the Scharmann Theatre on the Jamestown Campus. Directed by Bill Eckstrom, the group will showcase a diverse selection of music in a variety of styles.
The SUNY Jamestown Community College Board of Trustess will meet in the boardrooms of the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses, and North County Center.
