SUNY Jamestown Community College is competing in “Mascot Madness,” an annual tradition that brings SUNY mascots together in a decade-old competition to find out who is crowned the fan favorite in all of New York.
SUNY Jamestown Community College strives to supply a learning environment rich with real-world experiences at an affordable cost. Grants are critical to programs staying current, and at times becoming cutting edge. As an example, the college recently opened a virtual reality room that aims to benefit the Computer Science program initially, and grow to enrich the learning opportunities of every program on campus.
In recognition of National Nurses Week in May, SUNY Jamestown Community College is celebrating alumni of the college’s Nursing program. Magnetic buttons are available for the first 1,000 alumni who contact the JCC Foundation between March 1 and April 15.
Open House events at SUNY Jamestown Community College are set for 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday, March 9 on the Jamestown Campus, and 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday, March 16 on the Cattaraugus County Campus.
Prospective students will be able to explore academic programs and speak with faculty; learn about student support services, sports, clubs and events; take a tour of the campus; and receive help with the application process.
The Global Learning program at SUNY Jamestown Community College is “facilitating a whole lot more than academics,” according to Rudi Andalora, project manager for Global Learning at SUNY JCC.
A $10,000 grant from the State University of New York has created a vehicle with which SUNY Jamestown Community College can pursue improving transportation options for students at its locations.
Karen Weyant, SUNY Jamestown Community College associate professor of English, recently had her first full-length book of poetry published.
Titled “Avoiding the Rapture,” the collection of poems centers on Weyant’s first-hand childhood encounters with a life that is challenging, but one that can also be tender, hopeful, and vibrant if fought for.
The following students from SUNY Jamestown Community College were placed on the part-time Dean’s List for academic excellence during the fall 2023 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better in 6-11 degree hours.
