Crystal Rose-Williams, interim vice president of Student Affairs, and Jessica Kubiak, vice president of Academic Affairs, have announced the names of 118 students who were awarded degrees or certificates from SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Cattaraugus County and Jamestown campuses. Eleven students earned highest honors (4.0 GPA), 48 earned high honors (3.50-3.99 GPA), and 19 earned honors (3.25-3.49 GPA).

SUNY Jamestown Community College was recently approved for State University of New York’s Online+ recertification in 11 degree and certificate programs. Online programs that are part of the SUNY Online+ provide additional support services for students and faculty. 

SUNY noted that JCC "has a high level of institutional commitment to high quality online education and your best practices for administering online programs are exemplary."  

A new SUNY Jamestown Community College scholarship honoring a noted Chautauqua County entrepreneur will be awarded to a rising second-year Business Administration student starting in 2026. 

The Caryl VanderMolen Scholarship was recently established with the JCC Foundation by Caryl’s daughter, Nancy VanderMolen, as a way to remember the woman who founded Lakewood Furniture Galleries in the late 1950s and moved it to its current East Fairmount Avenue location in the 1960s. 

The following SUNY Jamestown Community College students earned full-time dean’s list honors for academic excellence during the Fall 2024 semester. To be eligible, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA while enrolled in at least 12 degree credits.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy at SUNY Jamestown Community College recently awarded recruit Matthew White with the Dan Feather Memorial Award. 

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Kids’ College v.2.0 is set to kickoff in January on SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Jamestown Campus.

The program delivers fun and educational monthly activities to children in grades 3-6. Kids’ College was a staple at JCC locations for more than 20 years until the pandemic halted operations in 2020.

SUNY Jamestown Community College recently received approval to offer Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor training for working professionals. 

International students at SUNY Jamestown Community College will showcase the cultures, languages, and food from their home countries during the annual “Go Global!” International Fair from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Student Union, located in the Hamilton Collegiate Center on the Jamestown Campus.

Stacy Chase graduated from SUNY Jamestown Community College, kept an open mind about her career journey, and now is in a position to encourage high school students at Pine Valley Central School to do the same.
