Tim Piazza is an Engineering assistant professor at SUNY Jamestown Community College. He teaches Engineering Science and Mechanical Technology courses. 

Piazza is a 1989 JCC graduate who went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Albany and a doctorate in Experimental Nuclear Physics from Stony Brook University.

Sarah Tranum is the director of SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program. She has held that title since 2017. 

Before being promoted to director, Tranum was the OTA program’s academic fieldwork coordinator for 17 years. She also played a leading role in developing JCC’s Explore & Soar pediatric sensory clinic which opened on the Jamestown Campus in 2024.

Brent Harkness is an associate professor of Welding at SUNY Jamestown Community College, teaching shielded metal arc welding, fabrication, metallurgy, and alternate processes 

Harkness has taught at JCC since 2005, starting as an adjunct instructor before being promoted to full time in 2006. He also has more than two decades of welding professional experience.

Renee Funke is a Teacher Education professor at SUNY Jamestown Community College. She has taught at JCC since August 2009 and before that was a coordinator for Erie 1 BOCES and a teacher at Pine Valley Central School and at Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES.

Area high school students were named to SUNY Jamestown Community College’s part-time student dean’s list during the 2024-25 academic year. To be eligible, students must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better while enrolled in six to 11 degree credits.

Area high school students were named to SUNY Jamestown Community College’s full-time student dean’s list during the 2024-25 academic year. To be eligible, students must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better while enrolled in at least 12 degree credits.

Tim Griffin is an assistant professor of Mechanical Technology at SUNY Jamestown Community College, teaching machining, CAD design, solid modeling, dimensional metrology, electrical technology, and related subjects. 

Griffin has taught at JCC since 2019. Before that, he was professional in the mechanical technology industry, most recently working at Dresser-Rand/Siemens in Olean.

Neil Flory, an associate professor and coordinator of the Music program at SUNY Jamestown Community College, has taught at the college since 2013. He teaches music theory, aural skills, songwriting, piano, music appreciation, an inquiry course in music, and other subjects.  

Flory is also an active composer, improvising pianist, and poet.
