Creating Hope for Suicide Prevention

Monday, May 12, 2025 | 8:22 pm

Raise awareness about the incidence and impact of suicide, connect with mental health resources, and inspire action for suicide prevention.

Students can participate in canvas painting, tie-dying (bring your own apparel to be decorated), self-care journals, and sign and hope flag decorating to raise awareness about the incidence and impact of suicide.

Mental health resources will be outlined for those in need of suicide prevention services.

Co-sponsored by JCC's campus life program and the Community Alliance for Suicide Prevention.

Open Arms Project

Monday, May 12, 2025 | 8:22 pm

In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, the campus life program hosts a resource fair providing a variety of information.

The event also incorporates the Clothesline Project and Where is Home Project.

Recognize the signs of overdose and learn about community resources. Every voice counts in fighting stigma, remembering those who have been lost to overdose, and ultimately in helping to bring about meaningful change.

Rock the Hawk Picnic

Monday, May 12, 2025 | 8:22 pm

JCC students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend the annual Welcome Back Picnic and Student Involvement Fair!

The rain location is the Student Union. Student clubs and organizations will be recruiting new members! If you have a special interest and a club doesn't exist for it, all it takes is five students and a faculty or staff advisor to start a new club.

The picnic is sponsored by the campus life program.

Griot B & Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides

Monday, May 12, 2025 | 8:22 pm

Students can experience the thrill of seeing the campus...from above.

Griot B and DJ Leo bring a concert unlike any ever heard. Griot B will rock the mic while engaging the campus with questions and providing context for each song.

Tethered hot air balloon rides allow four students to board as a group.

Sponsored by the campus life program.
