Spring Equinox Celebration

Thursday, February 26, 2026 | 11:50 pm

Hosted by the STAR Club, the spring equinox event honors a traditional time of gathering for many cultures to celebrate themes of life, rebirth, and renewal with music, and non-denominational opportunities to pause and notice the significance of this pivotal point of the year. Clubs are encouraged to participate in this community-building event, which will include a potluck dinner.

Stop by and celebrate the start of spring, and stay to watch the JCC Uncommoners performance of "Biloxi Blues"!

Outdoor Walk & Invasive Pest Survey

Thursday, February 26, 2026 | 11:50 pm

On behalf of the JCC Sustainability Committee and the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy, all are invited to a survey of the Jamestown Campus and Roger Tory Peterson Institute forests in search of the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid.

This invasive pest has been documented in Jamestown, including discovery and treatment in JCC's college woods during last year's survey. This insect attaches itself to the branches of Eastern Hemlock trees and feeds on their sap, draining the Hemlocks of their nutrients and slowly killing them over a four-to-10-year period.
