A suicide attempt left 16-year-old varsity cheerleader, Emma Benoit, paralyzed, but propelled her on a mission to use her painful experience to help others find hope, and shine more light on the fact that 20 young people die every day by suicide in the United States. My Ascension is a feature length documentary that chronicles Emma's inspiring journey and quest to walk again, as she works to bring Hope Squad, a school-based suicide prevention program, to Louisiana.

Rock The Hawk: JCC Pep Rally

The Pep Rally will include introductions of the JCC athletic teams, sports competitions (four teams made up of students/faculty/staff will compete in three competitions), and ending with the Ultimate Rock, Paper, Scissors competition. 200 free Hawks Nest T-Shirts will be handed out as well as one winner of a $50 gift card.

Painting Workshop

Learn and follow along to paint a simple art piece. Any and all students welcome, no matter their artistic knowledge or ability. Canvas is limited to the first 40 students to sign up. All supplies will be provided by Campus Life.

It begins with large-scale mind tricks that ALL students can participate in their seats, then you will see magic that uniquely ties to Nash’s life story, visual mind-reading, and lots of devilish surprises! More than just magic, Nash will also share positive messages he learned as an immigrant, entrepreneur, and a passionate volunteer in his community.
