THE ASSEMBLY will host an improvisation clinic in advance of their 7 p.m. Jazz Fest performance. The clinic is free of charge and open to the public...bring your instrument and learn more about jazz improvisation from the members of THE ASSEMBLY!

The Music department at SUNY Jamestown Community College released its spring schedule of events recently. These free events are all on the Jamestown Campus and open to the public.
The JCC Music Department Faculty Recital is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28 in room 138 of the Sheldon Center. Faculty from the Music department will present an eclectic program full of dynamic performances.
SUNY Jamestown Community College is preparing to celebrate Arbor Day and its 15th consecutive Tree Campus USA designation from the National Arbor Day Foundation with ceremonial tree plantings from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on April 23.
“We welcome the community to gather at the front of the Science Center and participate in the event,” said Andy Pitoniak, assistant professor of Biology at JCC. “In order to maintain our Tree Campus designation, we must show a commitment to maintaining and improving the trees on campus. This day is a fun piece of our ongoing efforts.”
SUNY Jamestown Community College’s annual Earthfest celebration is planned from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 on the Jamestown Campus.
Earthfest promotes the understanding, celebration, and stewardship of the Earth and its resources. Weather permitting, the event will span the central campus walkways near the pond and the Student Union. Local environmental organizations, student groups, and public agencies bring educational and informational displays and exhibits while eco-friendly businesses provide an assortment of earth-friendly items for purchase.
SUNY Jamestown Community College will host its annual Jazz Fest featuring “The Assembly” at 7 p.m. on April 26 in the Scharmann Theatre on the Jamestown Campus.
The group will also lead an improvisation clinic at 6 p.m. in the Scharmann Theatre ahead of their performance. Both the clinic and concert are free and open to the public. Participants in the clinic are encouraged to bring a musical instrument.
Five SUNY Jamestown Community College Student Senate members will represent the college at the Student Assembly of State University of New York’s Spring Conference April 19-21 in Glens Falls.
The conference provides networking opportunities for students and opportunities to learn skills to help them with their student government responsibilities. New leaders for the Student Assembly are elected during this conference.
