JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College Workforce Development is planning to launch a Construction Technology program in collaboration with The Builders Exchange of the Southern Tier and grant funding from the City of Jamestown.

Battle of the Resumes Competition

Join in on a live resume-writing competition! Students will have the chance to create a mock resume for the college president, who will be at the event. Participants will receive an hour and all necessary information to craft the resume, which will then be judged. The winner will take home a $100 Amazon gift card! 

Join Battle of the Resumes during the week of Feb. 24-28 to get a leg up on the competition. Career Services will share short, insightful videos throughout the week on how to create and refine resumes. Videos can be viewed at any time.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College is hosting an opening reception for its Art Faculty Exhibition from 5-7 p.m. on Feb. 6 at the Jamestown Campus Weeks Gallery.  

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, view their work, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments. 

JCC Annual Hot Dog Run

Come compete in the Annual JCC Hot Dog Run! The 2-mile course will take you through and around campus, finishing back at PHED. Lunch will be provided for all participants. Pre-Register by May 1 to get a free T-shirt.

Music Residency: Peregrine Road

Join this virtuosic Vermont-based Peregrine Road as they visit JCC for uniquely engaging presentations and performances centered on music from the Celtic, French, and English country dance traditions — everything from lively reels to Parisian café tunes and energetic waltzes. The performances will be educational as well as musical, including commentary from the performers on many aspects of the music and its background.

See the JCC Uncommoners spin on Young Jean Lee's 2010 absurdist tragedy about familial piety, despair, and the end of life. The production is a collision among Shakespeare's King Lear, Sesame Street, and Lee's take on the theme of dealing with a father's mortality.

Six showings are scheduled for 7 p.m. at Scharmann Theatre on March 27, 28, and 29, and on April 3, 4, and 5.
