JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — High school students from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties showcased their public speaking skills during the 14th annual College Connections Speech Contest held April 22 in SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Scharmann Theatre.

The SUNY Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will hold committee meetings on Tuesday, June 9 in the boardrooms of the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses, and SUNY Fredonia Tech Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — Crystal Rose-Williams and Kyle Brown represented SUNY Jamestown Community College at an AI forum for regional business and community leaders in May at the Doyle Conference Center at St. Bonaventure University. 

Hosted by St. Bonaventure in partnership with JCC, the forum brought together leaders from education, business, and community organizations to discuss the growing role of artificial intelligence in higher education, workforce development, and regional innovation.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College will take part in Give Big CHQ, a 24-hour online fundraising event supporting local nonprofits, on June 11. 

The college will raise funds for its Outstanding Future Educator Scholarship, which is awarded to a rising sophomore education major who demonstrates strong potential, character and growth as a future educator. JCC’s goal is to raise $2,000. 

Give Big CHQ connects donors with causes across Chautauqua County and provides nonprofit organizations with a platform to raise money and awareness for their missions.

When Madison Honeck arrives at the Rochester Institute of Technology for classes this fall, it will be more like the continuation of college than a start. 

The senior at Allegany-Limestone Central School is set to graduate this summer from SUNY Jamestown Community College with an associate's degree in Individual Studies and a Healthcare Studies certificate.

Early in high school, Abby Becker knew she wanted to accelerate her education faster than most. All it took was a history teacher at Panama Central mentioning that a former student had earned an associate degree before graduating from high school. 

“Almost immediately,” Becker said, “I was looking at ways to pursue higher education while in high school.”

SUNY Jamestown Community College celebrated nearly 600 students during its 76th annual commencement ceremonies Friday at the Olean YMCA and Saturday morning at the Jamestown Campus Physical Education Complex gymnasium. 

Degrees in 32 program areas and certificates in 17 fields of study were awarded to graduates from the summer and fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters. Individuals also were honored for earning Workforce Development credentials in seven areas.
