Dale Yerpe was there in 1976 when SUNY Jamestown Community College first opened its doors in Olean. Fifty years later, he's still on campus, still teaching English.

When SUNY Jamestown Community College opened for classes Aug. 30, 1976, at 722 Homer St. in Olean, faculty and staff were literally building the new Cattaraugus County venture on the fly. 

SUNY Jamestown Community College welcomed new students to campus this fall with an inaugural matriculation ceremony held during new student orientation. 

The ceremony brought students, faculty, staff, and college leadership together at JCC’s Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses to formally welcome the newest members of the college community and celebrate their commitment to academic success.
