Looking back on the effort to build SUNY Jamestown Community College's new campus in downtown Olean, former President Greg DeCinque still remembers what longtime Cattaraugus County Legislature Chairman Jim Snyder said when it was finally finished.
The stars had aligned.
SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Ron Shidemantle, vice president of Student Experience, and Traci Langworthy, interim vice president of Academic Affairs, announced that 43 students were awarded degrees or certificates from Jamestown Community College’s Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses in summer 2026.
Three of the graduating students earned highest honors for a 4.0 GPA, 19 earned high honors for GPAs ranging from 3.50 to 3.99, and six earned honors for GPAs ranging from 3.25 to 3.49.

As SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Cattaraugus County Campus continued to grow through the 1980s and into the 1990s, it needed someone to take care of the physical and mental health of the hundreds of students that walked the halls of its downtown Olean buildings each day.
Children and families are invited to join JCC for a night of fun and treats. Come as you are or come dressed up in your favorite Halloween costume! No registration or RSVP required.

While geared toward first-year students, all students are welcome to attend and benefit from the information shared.
OLEAN, N.Y. — The J. Hawk Career Closet opened to students this week at the SUNY Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean, with several students already taking advantage of the free career apparel that the closet offers.
Students can take up to six items from the closet per semester to help build their professional wardrobes. It is also open to online students, who can make a virtual appointment with JCC’s Career Services team to receive workwear.
Focus on how your attitude impacts the workplace and helps you stay calm and cheerful during busy or stressful times.
Grab your coffee or favorite drink and come face your career fears with Career Services. We will discuss your fears about public speaking, interviewing for a job, and what to do when you don't know the answer.
Families are invited to enjoy a free afternoon of fun at Family Movie Day at the Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean.
Co-sponsored by the City of Olean, the event will feature a screening of “How to Train Your Dragon” at 2 p.m. in the Cutco Theater. Free popcorn will be served during the movie.
Before the movie at 1 p.m., the first 48 children in attendance will have the opportunity to design and create their own Viking shields in the Magnano Room next to the Cutco Theater.
