SUNY Jamestown Community College celebrated nearly 600 students during its 76th annual commencement ceremonies Friday at the Olean YMCA and Saturday morning at the Jamestown Campus Physical Education Complex gymnasium. 

Degrees in 32 program areas and certificates in 17 fields of study were awarded to graduates from the summer and fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters. Individuals also were honored for earning Workforce Development credentials in seven areas. 

OLEAN, N.Y. — Students in SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Workforce Development Welding Fundamentals and Machining/CNC Operator programs graduated April 24 during a ceremony at the Cattaraugus County Campus. 

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The following SUNY Jamestown Community College students received academic awards during the Jamestown Campus awards ceremony held on Friday, May 8 at Scharmann Theatre. 

Allegany: John Paul Cavallo (Business Administration - A.S. Award) 

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Five students graduated from SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Workforce Development Industrial Maintenance Technician program on April 17 during a ceremony at the Jamestown Campus. 

The cohort marked the 11th group to complete the short-term program, which prepares students for entry-level positions installing, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.  

Graduates also attended a job fair at the DoubleTree Inn, where they met with several local employers seeking skilled technicians. 

Nikita McCoy keeps going.  

When giving up would be easy, maybe even reasonable, she continues to move forward. She feels too much support, too many people behind her, not to keep charging ahead. 

It comes from her four children, her husband and his two children, and the faculty and staff at SUNY Jamestown Community College. 

And especially her late father. 

It was their dream. Together. The one that is about to come true. 

Nine students and a campus club participated in SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Student Showcase on Friday, May 1. 

First-place honors went to KC Clark-Porter for “Teaching Moral Courage,” with faculty mentor Sara Luther. James Haick earned second place for “Accessible Trail Proposal,” with faculty mentor Shannon Bessette. 

SUNY Jamestown Community College has named student speakers for its spring 2026 commencement ceremonies.  

Alexandria Goodyear will address fellow graduates during the Cattaraugus County Campus ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the Olean YMCA, and Miguel Cocerez will speak during the Jamestown Campus ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, in the Physical Education Complex.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Nine students received awards at SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Juried Student Art exhibition that opened on Friday, April 24 in the Weeks Gallery on the Jamestown Campus. 

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College welcomed more than 25 high school students to its Jamestown Campus on Friday, April 17, for the third Annual Health & Science Journalism Workshop. The full-day immersive experience connected students with professional journalists, media practitioners, and community health leaders.
