Michael Boedo Foundation Starts Emergency Relief Fund for SUNY JCC Nursing Students

Nursing students at the Jamestown Campus of SUNY Jamestown Community College have a new source of support, courtesy of the Michael Boedo Community Foundation.

The emergency relief fund was established with a gift of $1,000 from Brian Boedo, president of the foundation that was established in memory of his brother. Michael Boedo was a phlebotomist at TLC-Lakeshore Health Center in Irving before he died from an accidental overdose.

SUNY Jamestown Community College recently honored 65 high school students from throughout southwestern New York as the 2023-2024 students of the year in the College Connections program. 

In selecting the students of the year, schools were asked to consider College Connections participants who had embraced the challenges of completing college level work and demonstrated resourcefulness, integrity, and dedication.

New students can now register for Accepted Student Days at SUNY Jamestown Community College at sunyjcc.edu/asd. The half-day events provide a relaxed opportunity to gain necessary information and tools to navigate college.

Jamestown Campus dates are from 9 a.m. to noon on June 27, July 17 and 30, and Aug. 14. Cattaraugus County Campus dates are 9:30 a.m. to noon on July 10 and August 1.

The following SUNY Jamestown Community College students were placed on the Part-time Dean’s List for academic excellence during the spring 2024 semester. To be eligible for the Part-time Dean’s List, a student must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better in 6-11 degree hours.
