Occupational Therapy Pediatric Clinic

Jayhawk Explore & Soar: Occupational Therapy Clinic for Families

Jamestown Community College’s pediatric clinic, Jayhawk Explore & Soar: Occupational Therapy Clinic for Families, provides free quality care to our community, while educating and building the skills needed for future occupational therapy practitioners to be successful professionals. The clinic provides occupational therapy interventions that assist clients and caregivers in reaching their full potential.

Individual OT Services

Individual OT includes 30-minute therapeutic sessions for children and their families designed for children ages birth-21.

Parents and caregivers will be involved in educational and support activities that focus on practical, evidence-based strategies they can try at home to support their child’s growth and success.

Sessions are planned and conducted by JCC's Occupational Therapy Assistant students as part of their clinical education under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, who oversees all services to ensure safety and quality of care.

Playgroups

Children's playgroups run alongside the Prevention Works Parenting Discussion Group, providing a safe, engaging environment for children while parents participate in supportive learning and conversation.

This playgroup is designed as a developmentally appropriate, inclusive setting where children of all ages and abilities can explore, play, and interact under supervision from occupational therapy assistant students and faculty. The environment supports early socialization, play skill development, and positive routines while ensuring parents can fully focus on the parenting group.

Services are provided by JCC's Occupational Therapy Assistant students as part of their clinical education under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, who oversees all services to ensure safety and quality of care.
