SUNY Jamestown Community College will host a virtual information session at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, to help adults ages 25 to 55 learn how they can attend college tuition-free through the State University of New York’s Reconnect initiative.

The online session will guide participants through eligibility requirements, available degree programs, and the personalized support JCC provides to help adult learners succeed. Attendees will also learn about flexible options such as online courses and dedicated faculty and staff support.

The SUNY Reconnect scholarship program is designed to help adult learners complete an associate degree in one of several high-demand career fields while addressing workforce needs across the state. Students in the program receive free tuition, fees, books, and supplies after other forms of financial aid, such as FAFSA and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program, are applied.

To be eligible, students must reside in New York state, be between the ages of 25 and 55 as of Jan. 1 in the year they enroll, not currently hold a degree, and be accepted into an approved associate degree program at JCC.

Eligible JCC programs include those in health, computer technology, education, and advanced manufacturing.

JCC offers many support services for adult students, including those for single parents and military veterans and dependents. The Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean is home to the JCC YMCA Early Center, which provides daycare services for students with children.
