SUNY Jamestown Community College Announces Six Faculty Promotions

Six members of the SUNY Jamestown Community College faculty received promotions prior to the start of the 2021-22 academic year, which began on Aug. 23. 

Amanda Bartels, Colette Haight, and Beth Lisi have been promoted to the rank of associate professor.

Bartels joined the college’s faculty in 2012 and previously served as an adjunct instructor at Niagara County Community College, Erie Community College, and Niagara university. She received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics and a master of science degree in education, both from the University of Albany. 

Prior to her full-time appointment, Haight served as an adjunct counselor at JCC and previously worked for Clearfield-Jefferson Community Mental Health Center, DuBois Regional Medical Center, and Saint Vincent Health Center. She received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology and master of arts in clinical psychology both from Edinboro University. 

Lisi joined the college’s faculty in 2011 and previously worked in the Gaston County Schools in Gastonia, N.C. as technology facilitator at H.H. Beam Elementary School and as the coordinator for communications and information technology academy for the district. She received a bachelor of science in elementary education from St. Bonaventure University and a master of science in education with an option in online teaching and learning from California State University at Hayward/East Bay. 

Debra Bablak, Janelle Grey, and Tracy Kelly received promotions to the rank of assistant professor. 

Bablak served as a registered nurse at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, Northwest Medical Center and Community Dialysis Center, as well as a nurse educator for the Venango Technology Center in Oil City, Pa. prior to her appointment to JCC’s faculty in 2017. She holds a B.S. in nursing from Edinboro University and a M.S. in nursing and nursing education from Robert Morris University. 

Prior to joining the faculty in 2017, Grey worked as a project manager/CTE specialist and project manager for retention, while also serving as an adjunct faculty member at JCC since 2011. She also worked at the Northwest Human Development and Achievement Center. She holds an associate degree in social sciences from JCC, a B.S. in elementary education from SUNY Fredonia, and an M.S. in counselor education from St. Bonaventure University. 

Prior to her full-time appointment as registrar, Kelly served as assistant and interim registrar at JCC, joining the faculty in 2017. She previously worked at SUNY Buffalo State College, SUNY Fredonia, and as business manager for Paxon Community Corporation. She holds a B.A. in communications from the University at Buffalo and an M.S. in student personnel administration from Buffalo State.
