Office Assistant

As an office assistant, I help the instructors with managing and supporting their courses. I assist students with any questions they have for the department, connecting with instructors, assisting with course schedule creation, and so much more. I also work closely with the director of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy and the director of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Programs. I am willing to help where I can!

My favorite part of this job is working with staff who genuinely care and are passionate about what they do. That is important in a job that involves a lot of coordination and collaboration, and helping students realize their dreams.

Having a background in social work and criminal justice, I know intimately the demands of higher education and the professional world. I also know the importance of knowing your boundaries and your priorities. Working in the field of criminal justice requires strength, responsibility, forgiveness, integrity, and character. This field is incredibly important and can come with a high level of authority that should be treated with great responsibility and care. The faculty currently are or previously were highly involved in our area’s criminal justice field, and come to the program with an incredible amount of experience and wisdom. Utilize these resources and rely on the instructors as mentors, even well beyond your time here at JCC!
