Professor

I have been teaching and conducting basic science and educational research for nearly 30 years. I have been at JCC since 2003, and prior to this I worked at Michigan State University, State University of New York at Stony Brook, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the Dow Chemical Company. I obtained an M.S. and a Ph.D. in neurotoxicology from Michigan State University. Recently, I was awarded an NSF/CCLI science education grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). I received training from the National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science, and use active learning techniques in my teaching approaches. I also have a long publication record. Generally, my teaching focuses on a triad of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and biomedical ethics.
