JCC & BPU Solar Panel Project

JCC & BPU partnership for community energy

Jamestown Community College partnered with the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities to install a solar array on the roof of Hamilton Collegiate Center. With 495 solar panels that generate 330,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, we are proud to work with the BPU to expand renewable energy in our community.

Why solar at JCC?

  • JCC and the BPU are engaging in practical sustainability to provide energy resources and reduce carbon emissions.
  • JCC students can learn about real-world solar generation right on campus.
  • Our local community can access more climate-friendly energy through the BPU.
  • The BPU will continually test the integration potential of solar with their microgrid project to support renewable energy.
