Machining/CNC Operator through Workforce Development
The Machining/CNC Operator program provides students with the necessary skills for entry-level machinist or CNC operator positions in manufacturing.
This 13-week, hands-on program will provide students with the knowledge and skills to obtain an entry-level manufacturing position in the field of machining or quality control. Students will learn to set up and operate CNC machines and manual lathes and mills. The curriculum will cover blueprint reading, metrology, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and cutting tool selection.

Financing your training
The Machining/CNC Operator program is a $6,400 valued training. Due to generous grant funding, the cost for students is $2,000.
Funding may be available to qualified individuals to help cover part of or the full $2,000 course fee. These sources include:
- NYS Department of Labor Individual Training Accounts
- Local scholarships
- Part-time TAP for Non-degree Program: for non-matriculated students attending part-time
Our team works with each student prior to enrollment to determine funding eligibility. Most students receive funding for part or all of the training cost.
This program prepares students for careers in the following New York State Department of Labor O*NET SOC Codes: 51-4034 Lathe and Turning Machine Tool Setters, Operators, and Tenders, Metal and Plastic, 51-4041-Machinists, 51-4081- Multiple Machine Tool Setters, Operators, and Tenders, Metal and Plastic, 51-9161- Computer Numerically Controlled Tool Operators.
