Banned Books Week is an annual event launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in challenges to books in schools, bookstores, and libraries. The event highlights the value of free and open access to information, by bringing librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types together in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas.

JCC is helping prospective students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Virtual support assistance led by college staff and students goes through the end of August. Sessions are scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon and 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays, 11 a.m. to noon and 3-4 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 2-3 p.m. on Fridays.
