OLEAN, N.Y. — Jim Mahar has lofty goals for the Remote Area Medical clinic coming to Olean later this summer.
“I would love to have over $200,000 of free medical treatment for people,” said Mahar, a finance professor at St. Bonaventure University and leader of the BonaResponds volunteer organization. “I think we can. I would love, love, love to hit a quarter of a million dollars of free services provided. I think that's very reachable.”
Remote Area Medical (RAM), a nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics that deliver healthcare to underserved and uninsured individuals, will be at the Olean YMCA on September 13 and 14 to provide free medical, dental, and vision care. Tim Griffin is an assistant professor of Mechanical Technology at SUNY Jamestown Community College, teaching machining, CAD design, solid modeling, dimensional metrology, electrical technology, and related subjects.
Griffin has taught at JCC since 2019. Before that, he was professional in the mechanical technology industry, most recently working at Dresser-Rand/Siemens in Olean.
OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College is hosting an animal-themed summer movie night at its Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean.
Children and families are invited to a free showing of the movie “Sing” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at Cutco Theater. Before the movie at 5 p.m., all are invited to a petting zoo with County Line 4H rabbits and goats.
Popcorn and water will be provided at no cost to moviegoers.
Children and families are invited to a free showing of the movie “The Muppet Christmas Carol” at Cutco Theater, which is outfitted with a 165-inch video wall. Popcorn, water, and candy canes will be provided at no cost.
