Music Residency: Effiny Saxophone Duo Live! Masterclass

Consisting of internationally acclaimed virtuoso classical saxophonists Susan Fancher and Mark Engebretson, the Effiny Saxophone Duo’s focus is on innovative, energetic new music for saxophones, often with the addition of electronic elements.

Engebretson is also an internationally-recognized composer whose works often pursue explorations of popular music styles, virtuosity, the connections between poetry and music, and the dynamism of 21st-century technology. In addition to a live performance, the duo will give two presentations and host a woodwind masterclass.

Faculty Poetry Reading

The Weeks Gallery will host four of JCC's published poets and educators for a Faculty Poetry Reading. Hear from Neil Flory, Justin March, Christopher Munde, and Karen Weyant as they take turns reading their original works in the gallery. 
 

The gallery's current exhibition, "Finding the Words," will be on view during this event. Refreshments and hors d'ouevres will be served.
