SUNY Jamestown Community College will host special guest and award-winning saxophonist, Andy Wen, Nov. 2-3 for two live performances, a masterclass, and two lectures on the Jamestown Campus. These sessions are free and open to the public.

Wen has performed in 25 states and 12 countries, played at the conferences of 13 different organizations, and taught master classes across the United States, China, and Taiwan. He has been recognized several times internationally and premiered over 50 solo and chamber compositions across the globe.
“Andy is a top-notch musician and champion of the music of living composers,” says Neil Flory, coordinator of music and associate professor of music at JCC. “Audiences the world over have long been thrilled by his approach to the saxophone. We’re thrilled to bring a performer of his caliber of talent to Jamestown for the whole community to enjoy.”
The first performance, “Solo Music for Saxophone,” is from 12:20-1:15 p.m. on Nov. 2, and the second, “Saxophone Music Past and Present,” will take place from 7-8 p.m. on Nov. 3 in room 138 of the Sheldon Center. An hour-long clarinet and saxophone masterclass is planned for 4 p.m. on Nov. 3 in room 147 of the Sheldon Center.
