Twelve 2025 graduates of SUNY Jamestown Community College completed all requirements to earn the college’s Honors program citation. Each was honored during the Jamestown Campus commencement ceremony on Saturday.
They are: Lydia Adu-Kwakye of Jamestown, Kyle Camp of Cheektowaga, Amangeldi Gulamov of Turkmenistan, Gen Hasegawa of Japan, Christine Hulett of Sinclairville, Ayomideji Israel-Akinbo of South Africa, Alexis Lundmark of Lakewood, Oisin McGroarty of Ireland, Caelan Register of Bemus Point, Mehwesh Showkat of Queens, Raylynn Digirolamo of Lakewood, and Tamako Onoda of Jamestown.
To be awarded JCC’s Honors program citation, a student must complete a globally-focused honors symposium course and two project-based honors courses while maintaining at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
“The Honors Advisory group would like to congratulate these students on their hard work and dedication to their continued learning,” said Angela Raynor, Honors program coordinator.
To be a candidate for the Honors program, high school graduates must have achieved a GPA of 90% or better and be eligible to take college-level English and math courses or have taken 12 or more college credits, possess at least a 3.5 GPA, and be eligible to take college-level English and math courses.
Among the benefits of joining the Honors program are one-on-one time with faculty for projects, networking opportunities on-and-off campus, additional library services, and the opportunity to complete class scheduling before general student registration.
