SUNY Jamestown Community College is making good on the old tune “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” On Wednesday, June 29, the college will host JCC Night at Diethrick Park with the Tarp Skunks.

The game begins at 6:30 p.m. and the event includes tailgating for faculty, staff and their families. On-field promotional games and contests are interspersed between innings, with giveaways conducted throughout the event. During the game, staff from SUNY JCC’s college admissions office will share information on JCC’s current courses and educational offerings. JCC’s Alumni Association will operate an informational table for anyone wishing to stop by and reconnect.
“This is a fun way for the JCC family to celebrate a national tradition,” says Jacob Kindberg, Tarp Skunks director of business operations. “We want to have as many faculty, staff, prospective students, and their families join together and root for the Tarp Skunks.”
The college hosts the Tarp Skunks team in its residence halls for the summer. As part of this agreement, the Tarp Skunks organization contributed more than 250 game tickets that have been distributed to prospective JCC students and their families for the matchup against the Newark Pilots.
Daniel DeMarte, president of SUNY JCC, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
“I enjoy these events with our Jayhawks family at the stadium,” DeMarte shares. “Hopefully my first pitch gets the Tarp Skunks off to a good start!”
