SUNY Jamestown Community College invites prospective students, families, and community members to explore hands-on careers in engineering and the skilled trades during the first installment of its Spotlight Series, “Inside Track to Engineering & Trades.”

The events will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, on the Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean, and at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, on the Jamestown Campus.

Guests will have the opportunity to tour JCC’s Manufacturing Technology Institute, meet faculty and current students, and experience state-of-the-art equipment used in the college’s engineering, welding, machining, and design programs.

“This series is a great way for future students to see how JCC’s programs connect directly to high-demand, high-paying careers in our region,” said Corrine Case, JCC’s director of Admissions. “We’re excited to open our doors and show how education and hands-on learning lead to real opportunity.”

Throughout the evening, attendees can participate in information sessions and breakout discussions, including an alumni panel featuring JCC graduates who have launched successful careers in engineering and the skilled trades.

Breakout sessions feature career pathways in engineering with faculty members Tim Piazza and Sean Nowling and in skilled trades with faculty members Brent Harkness and Xavier Smith.

Case will provide a presentation on the State University of New York’s Reconnect Scholarship for adults ages 25 to 55.

The Spotlight Series builds on JCC’s long-standing tradition of campus visit events, offering a more personalized and career-focused way for students to explore programs and connect with faculty. Future events will highlight additional academic and career areas, including healthcare, criminal justice and first responders, visual and performing arts, and more.
