OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College is collaborating with Dream It. Do It. Cattaraugus - Allegany to host a Girls in Manufacturing day on March 23 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the Cattaraugus County Campus.

This annual event provides an opportunity for young girls and a friend or guardian to learn about manufacturing in a fun, hands-on learning environment. Women from local manufacturers, along with JCC instructors, will be leading this event, providing insight on industry standards for manufacturing.

“This is a great opportunity to get a lot of people onto our campus. While many of these girls are younger than our normal target audience, it’s a great time for them to see the opportunities that we have in our local community,” said Kathleen Martel, director of JCC Workforce Development on the Cattaraugus County Campus. “Keeping these girls engaged and interested at such a young age allows them to really think about the different types of jobs that are out there.”
