SUNY Jamestown Community College will hold a career fair from noon to 2 p.m. on March 19 in the Student Union on the Jamestown Campus. This event is free and open to the public.
“We decided this year to give our traditional career fair a festival theme,” said Julie Page, navigator for Career Services at SUNY JCC. “Thinking about the future can be really overwhelming, so we’re bringing in some fun elements like games and even a fortune teller to remind everyone how fun and exciting it is to think about what lies ahead.”
More than 30 employers including Roswell Park; Brooks-TLC; SKF USA, Inc.; and U.S. Army recruiting representatives will be on hand to share information about full and part-time employment opportunities, as well as internships.
“There will be lots of opportunities to talk with businesses in different professional areas,” Page said. “If health and wellness is your area, we have employers like Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home coming. Anyone interested in engineering or manufacturing can talk to businesses like Jamestown Plastics, and those interested in working with the public will be able to talk to non-profits like Girl Scouts of Western New York. There really is something for everyone.”
