OLEAN, N.Y. — Families are invited to enjoy a free afternoon of fun at SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Family Movie Day on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean.
Co-sponsored by the City of Olean, the event will feature a screening of “How to Train Your Dragon” at 2 p.m. in the Cutco Theater. Free popcorn will be served during the movie.
Before the movie at 1 p.m., the first 48 children in attendance will have the opportunity to design and create their own Viking shields in the Magnano Room next to the Cutco Theater.
The event is free and open to everyone. Families are encouraged to arrive early for the shield-making activity and to enjoy an afternoon of movie fun together.
Released in 2010, “How to Train Your Dragon” is an animated film based on the book series by Cressida Cowell and combines humor, adventure, and a message about friendship, understanding, and accepting others. The movie was nominated for two Academy Awards.
