Eleven students completed the fifth cohort of the Welding Fundamentals program, and three completed the ninth cohort of the Machining/CNC Operator program.

The short-term programs prepare students for entry-level positions.

Welding Fundamentals graduates included Thomas Bonetsky of Little Valley; Austin Chiosi of Wellsville; Karli Davis of Caneadea; Sydnee Ganoung of Allegany; Ashlyn Niver of Olean; Alex Peru of Olean; Eric Pitts of Olean; Katherine Ray of Olean; Orion Reid of Lewis Run, Pennsylvania; Nicholas Sauberan of Olean; and Carlos Valentin Jr. of Olean.

Machining/CNC Operator graduates were Katelyn Main of Olean; Christian Martin of Limestone; and Jay Miller of Olean.

Before the ceremony, students had the opportunity to interview with regional employers hiring for skills taught in the programs. With support from JCC Career Services, students were prepared with resumes and mock interview experience.

The acquisition of several grants, and the collaboration with area Workforce Development boards, made it possible to offer these advanced manufacturing programs at no cost to students.
