Auditions will be held December 5 and 6 for JCC’s production of She Kills Monsters.
The auditions, which begin at 7 p.m. in Scharmann Theatre, are open to JCC students, high school students, and community members.
Those who are auditioning will read scenes from the play. Both speaking and non-speaking roles are available.
The dramatic comedy, directed by Adam Owens, will be presented March 15-17 and 22-24.
She Kills Monsters explores the world of fantasy role-playing games. As she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly Agnes Evans finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook. She stumbles into a journey of discovery and adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge.
The play was written by Qui Nguyen, co-founder of the OBIE Award-winning Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company. She Kills Monsters won the distinguished play award in 2014 from the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
Owens is a local actor, comedian, director, and a theater and film instructor at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc. He is a JCC graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in acting at SUNY Fredonia.
