JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Peregrine Road duo of Rachel Bell on accordion and Karen Axelrod on piano and accordion are coming to the SUNY Jamestown Community College Jamestown Campus for a music residency on March 26.
The virtuosic Vermont-based group will deliver a live concert at 12:20 p.m., plus presentations on “Music in the Human Experience” at 11 a.m. and “Accordion and Piano” at 1:30 p.m. All are free and open to the public and set for Room 138 of the Sheldon Center.
“We’re looking forward to uniquely engaging presentations and performances centered on music from the Celtic, French, and English country dance traditions,” said Neil Flory, associate professor of Music at JCC. “Peregrine Road covers everything from lively reels to Parisian café tunes and energetic waltzes. The performances will be educational as well as musical, including commentary from the performers on many aspects of the music and its background.”
Peregrine Road has a history with JCC, having performed on the Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean in March 2017.
