Open House events at SUNY Jamestown Community College are set for 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday, March 9 on the Jamestown Campus, and 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday, March 16 on the Cattaraugus County Campus.
Prospective students will be able to explore academic programs and speak with faculty; learn about student support services, sports, clubs and events; take a tour of the campus; and receive help with the application process.
“This is also a great time to apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid,” said Corinne Case, director of Admissions at SUNY JCC. “Students can meet with a FAFSA completion specialist during Open House and get this important step accomplished.”
Case said the college is always working to improve the student experience at JCC. She hopes anyone attending Open House spends time learning about childcare support and transportation services available to students, and new features to academic programs.
“Our SPREE program is a great resource for students who are also parents, and we’re expanding that support to include childcare services,” Case said. “Thanks to several grants the college has been awarded, we will be better able to help students with transportation to and from campus, and several academic programs like Computer Science and Occupational Therapy are building innovative spaces to help students gain practical experience in their field while earning their degree.”
