“Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” is an electro-pop opera by Dave Malloy, based on a section of Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace.”
The story follows young Natasha Rostova as she navigates love, betrayal, and heartbreak in 19th-century Moscow while her fiancé is away at war. She becomes entangled with the charming but reckless Anatole, leading to scandal. Meanwhile, the lonely and philosophical Pierre seeks meaning in his life and ultimately finds redemption through his connection with Natasha.
The show blends Russian folk, classical music, and contemporary pop in a highly immersive, high-energy theatrical experience.
