SUNY Jamestown Community College is hosting a series of new student orientation events at its Cattaraugus County and Jamestown campuses before the fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 25. All new students are required to attend one of the sessions.
The Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean is holding orientation from 1- 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18; 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20; and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 22. Check in opens a half hour prior to the start of orientation in the Library & Liberal Arts Center lobby on Aug. 18 and 20, and in the Cutco Theater lobby on Aug. 22.
The Jamestown Campus orientation is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the campus bookstore and student ID office open from 3-4 p.m. Check in begins at 9 a.m. in the Physical Education Complex.
At orientation, students learn about JCC technologies, academic and holistic support, and life as a college student. Orientation does not include advisement or registration for classes.
Students unable to attend n person or those taking classes only online, will need to complete the JCC Online Orientation in Brightspace. Online orientation is open for all students throughout the semester, and is required for those unable to come to an in-person orientation.
