The Jamestown Community College Foundation is teaming up with the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres foundations to help raise funds for the Unified Student Assistance Scholarship during their Give 716 campaign.
Give 716 begins at 7:16 p.m. on July 15 and runs through midnight on July 16. The goal is to unite Buffalo Bills and Sabres fans in a giving event that benefits nonprofit organizations in the Western New York area. Since its inception in 2021, the annual giving event has raised over $3.3 million for 601 participating charities.
The USA Scholarship was established in 1979 to cover tuition for first-time students at JCC who graduate in the top 20% of their high school class. One-hundred thirty-three of the best and brightest students in the area benefitted from the award last year. The scholarship has provided over $10 million since its inception to more than 4,000 students, allowing them to attend JCC tuition-free.
“The USA Scholarship is critical to JCC’s ability to attract top scholars,” said Carissa Bentley, development and alumni relations coordinator for the JCC Foundation. “We’re excited for the expanded visibility Give 716 will bring to the college and this endowment. There are fun incentives like matching gifts and prizes for donors and every donation will go a long way toward continuing the USA Scholarship legacy and supporting our next generation of recipients.”
