COVID-19 Update For Students, Faculty, Staff

COVID-19 Update For Students, Faculty, Staff
Monday, December 14, 2020

Jamestown Community College is taking the following actions, based on SUNY, CDC, and New York State Department of Health guidelines regarding COVID-19:

  • Beginning March 19, most classes will be delivered via distance learning until further notice.

Information about your courses:

  • This list will tell you how your courses will be offered beginning March 19, 2020. You’ll see that some courses will continue via distance learning, others will require special scheduling, and a small number will continue as previously scheduled.
  • For more specific information on how those options apply to your specific courses, visit the Blackboard component of each of your courses beginning March 17.
  • Explore these resources that will help you make the transition to distance learning.
  • Buildings at JCC’s sites, including the residence halls, will remain open for regular hours of operation.
  • JCC employees will report to work, consistent with their normal schedules.
  • JCC’s administration will communicate when and if on-campus activities and events scheduled after March 19 are curtailed or cancelled.

Please:

  • Remain calm. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 have not been reported in Chautauqua or Cattaraugus counties at this time. As the number of state and nationwide cases increases, it is possible someone in our area may become infected. However, be assured that:
    • JCC is in close contact with, and relies on, county and state departments of health and state and national agencies for assistance and guidance.
    • JCC has quarantine procedures in place should one or more students test positive for the virus.
  • Wash your hands. JCC adheres to strict cleaning protocols to reduce the risk of infection from surfaces that are touched frequently by individuals. Do your part: wash your hands regularly.

Stay informed. Check your JCC email account and JCC’s coronavirus webpage for updates.
